Work With Our Community of Conservation Leaders
The Southern New England Chapter (SNEC) was founded in 1946 and has a rich history serving Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Our mission is to promote, educate, and advance all phases of the science of conservation of soil, water, and related resources.
The Chapter is managed by a volunteer board of 5-8 directors. We are professionals and academics who work with our community of conservation leaders towards building a more sustainable future. We focus on engaging students and emerging environmentalists, continuing our educational events and providing relevant training, and expanding our outreach.

Wanted: Secretary
The office of SNEC Secretary, an annually-elected position, was vacated recently after six years of service by Doug McCluskey, formerly with E. J. Prescott. The Board wishes him well in his new position as Civil Engineered Products Sales Manager at Tenax Corporation.
The Secretary works with the SNEC Administrator to handle elections and issue notices of meetings. In the absence of an administrator, the Secretary keeps minutes of all regular and special meetings of the chapter. The Secretary reports to the Chapter at the Annual Meeting regarding Chapter activities.
Nominations should be submitted by Monday, June 8th
via e-mail to SNEC Administrator Keara McAuliffe at keara@swcssnec.org. Please include the nominee’s name, title, contact information, and a brief statement explaining why they (or YOU) would make an excellent board member.
Ballots will be distributed by June 15th via ElectionBuddy.
Write-in nominations, including self-nominations, will be accepted – – but, optimally, nominations will be made in time for candidate names to appear on the ballot. Election results will be announced at our Annual Chapter Meeting, to be held as part of Soil Matters on July 30th at UConn Storrs.
