Work With Our Community of Conservation Leaders

The Southern New England Chapter (SNEC) was founded in 1946 and has a rich history serving Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Our mission is to promote, educate, and advance all phases of the science of conservation of soil, water, and related resources.

The Southern New England Chapter is managed by an 8-member volunteer Board of Directors.  We are professionals and academics who work with our community of conservation leaders towards building a more sustainable future. Our goals include expanding our outreach, engaging students and emerging environmentalists, continuing our educational events and providing relevant training.

State Representative needed for Connecticut

SNEC especially needs a new Connecticut Representative, as our current CT Representative will step down this year. The Connecticut Representative will have the opportunity to represent the conservation community of Connecticut by hosting workshops and events, highlighting local projects at the summer meeting, and forging further connections within the community.  SNEC’s 2025 conference on Soil Matters will be held in Connecticut; our new CT representative will be asked for speaker suggestions and projects involving soil, sediment and related matters.
